Good afternoon, Rocket families. This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential while focusing on learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility. I hope you have enjoyed time with your family and friends this week! As we are heading back to school tomorrow, we need your help with a very important safety issue! If you are dropping off jr/sr high students, please use the gym doors on the lower level. We have some families dropping off students at the north side of the building, which is causing safety concerns due to cross traffic. Please adjust your routine to drop students off at the gym doors. Deputy Woods will be out there to assist with this adjustment. Thank you for keeping our students safe! Did you check out the Launching Learners newsletter created by the elementary? There are so many fun ideas to encourage learning! You should also be receiving our district newsletter for winter in the mail soon! This highlights just a few of the great things we are doing at Ridgedale! Plan ahead for the kindergarten and first grade Holiday Program on December 13 at 6:30pm in the elementary gym. The jr/sr high winter program will be on December 14 at 6pm in the high school gym. Don’t forget we have two systems that are available for student safety concerns. Stay safe, speak up can be accessed through our website under Student Safety Reporting. In addition, you can call the Safer Ohio Tip Line at 844-SaferOH. Check out all of the athletic events this week! They can be found on our website or download the app! Thank you for all you do for our students, our staff, and our community! Make it a great week, and Go, Rockets!

Good afternoon, Rocket families. This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential while focusing on learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility. Just a reminder that we have Thanksgiving break this week! There is no school on Wednesday, November 23 through Friday, November 25. Enjoy this time with family and friends! Students in grades 6-12 had the opportunity to take the YouScience Discovery, which is the only aptitude-based college and career guidance solution available. It lets students take a series of brain game-like exercises to discover their aptitudes and interests and the careers best suited for both. Unlike interest-only college-and-career readiness solutions, Discovery uncovers abilities someone may not have been aware of and careers they’ll excel at but may never have considered. Ask your student to log in and look at all of the information available through this program! Don’t forget we have two systems that are available for student safety concerns. Stay safe, speak up can be accessed through our website under Student Safety Reporting. In addition, you can call the Safer Ohio Tip Line at 844-SaferOH. The National Honor Society is still collecting food and baby supplies for the food drive! Thank you for sending in items to support the Christmas Clearinghouse! There are many athletic events this week, which can be found on our website or download the app! Thank you for all you do for our students, our staff, and our community! Make it a great week, and Go, Rockets!

We are excited to partner with OSUM for the GoBuck$ program! Students in 3rd-12th grade can earn up to $1,000 off tuition at OSUM by meeting attendance and achievement goals while at Ridgedale. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students! The National Honor Society at the high school is sponsoring a food drive starting next week through November 16. They will be collecting canned goods, boxed foods, non-perishable foods, personal hygiene items as well as baby care items. Thank you for supporting the Christmas Clearinghouse! The National Honor Society will be sponsoring a food drive to benefit families in Marion County through the Christmas Clearinghouse. We will be collecting canned goods (fruit, veggies, meats, pasta, soup), boxed foods (mac & cheese, instant potatoes, cake, brownie, biscuit or cookie mixes, pudding, Jello), non-perishable foods (peanut butter, dried beans, crackers, cereal, spaghetti sauce) and personal hygiene items (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant), and there is always a need for baby items (diapers, wipes, cereal). Please help us help others throughout the holiday season. The drive begins next week and items can be taken to your child's homeroom. Each classroom will have a box to collect our items. The drive ends on Nov 16, so please send what you can. Thank you for your continued support of our students and families!
