Good afternoon, Rocket families.
This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential while focusing on learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility.
Please remember that this week is a short week. Our winter break will officially begin on Thursday, December 22. Students will return to school on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
I wanted to take a moment to remind you of our two school safety resources. Safety concerns can be reported on our website or app by clicking on the “Student Safety Reporting.” In addition, you can call the Safer Ohio Tip Line at 844-SaferOH.
Don’t forget to check out all of the athletic events this week! They can be found on our website or download the app! Be sure to check the website, app, or social media for any changes that may occur!
Mark your calendars for Friday, January 20. The boys’ basketball team will be hosting Elgin that night with the freshmen starting at 4:30pm. The Rocket Dribbling Club will be performing! Come early and feed your family while supporting the Ridgedale Boosters. The Boosters will be hosting a Soup-er Supper from 5-7pm in the high school cafeteria. Enjoy a variety of soups, salad, bread, and drink for only $6 per person. There will be a silent auction, vendor setups, and a bake sale as well.

What is TRIO Talent Search?
Talent Search (TS) is an educational program serving students who are enrolled in any grade from six through twelve and who attend or live our district. TS is funded largely by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
Please completely fill out this application. Please feel free to contact the Talent Search Office at (740) 725-4005 with any questions that you may have. We must have a completed application before a student can be selected to participate in this program.
Program services include but are not limited to:
academic advising and tutoring
assistance in selecting high school courses
mentoring
career information and exploration activities
ACT/SAT information and preparation
college planning, including application assistance
FAFSA, financial aid, and scholarship application assistance
financial literacy, and
visits to colleges and universities.

Tonight's HS Girls basketball game vs. Ridgemont 12/15 has been postponed. Makeup date TBD.
Friday night 12/16 - HS Boys basketball game @ Ridgemont - ONLINE Ticketing ONLY - https://www.ridgemont.k12.oh.us/TicketBoxOffice.aspx
Saturday 12/17 - HS Girls basketball game is postponed due to lack of numbers for Del. Christian. Makeup date is 1/24/23 @ 6pm.
HS Boys Basketball will play Del. Christian as scheduled with JV game beginning at 5pm
Monday 12/19 - JH Girls basketball game will be an 8th grade ONLY game due to illness at Centerburg. Game time will remain at 5pm. JH Boys will still play both 7th and 8th grade games @ 5pm.

Another phenomenal concert at the jr/sr high with the choirs and bands last night!





Bowling Results vs. Fredericktown
Rocket Bowling!: Bowling Results RHS Boys Varsity lost to Fredericktown 1772 to 1797. High Game was Jayden Reynolds 182. Jayden had high series 337.
Rocket Bowling!: Boys JV defeated Fredericktown 1441 to 1230. High game was Gage Osborne with a 186. Gage had high series with a 307.
Rocket Bowling!: Girls Varsity lost to Fredericktown 1675 to 1741. High game was Aubrie Smith with a 191. Aubrie had high series with a 371.
Rocket Bowling!: Girls JV lost to Fredericktown 871 to 1114. High game was Shayla Gaffney with a 135. Shayla also had high series with a 238.

Do you have a high school or college student who is interested in becoming a physician? The Medical Staff at Marion General Hospital is looking for students that are planning to enroll or are enrolled in a post-secondary, pre-med or medical program and are interested in becoming a physician and practicing in Marion, Ohio. This program is a paid internship and opportunity to work alongside physicians, advanced practice providers, and medical professionals in a hospital setting with the goal of returning to Marion General to practice in your hometown. Speaking of career planning, don’t forget to ask your 6th-12th grade student about their YouScience aptitude survey results. Students can explore their aptitudes, review their career matches, find aptitude-based language for interviews, resumes, applications, and more!
