Great send off to our state bowler, Aubrie Smith! Good luck! We are proud of you!

February is Heart Health month and the Ridgedale Elementary students did a GREAT job of helping the American Heart Association raise money. During the month of February the RES students were practicing their jump rope skills to participate in our annual Jump Rope for Heart Event. This year our students were just shy of their $5,000 goal, with $4,814.55 being raised so far.
If you are interested in donating to help us reach our goal, you can do so by sending a check to the RES Office or donating directly to our Jump Rope for Heart Webpage. Thank you again for helping to save lives through the American Heart Association!

Good afternoon, Rocket families!
This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential while focusing on learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility. As part of our safety cornerstone, I would like to share a quote each week that highlights the power and importance of our words and actions. This week, our quote comes from Scott Adams who said, “Remember there’s no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end.” I challenge all Rockets to implement acts of kindness daily in order to create this ripple effect.
As another safety reminder, please be careful in our parking lots. It is important to drive slowly and cautiously as our campus is full of activity!
We have quite a few events and reminders for this week!
All juniors will be taking the ACT on Tuesday, February 28. This includes our students who are attending Tri Rivers. All juniors will meet in the cafeteria. An additional reminder will be sent on Monday night for juniors.
There will be a meeting on Wednesday, March 1 at 6pm in the HS library for all Junior class members and their parents to discuss planning for prom
Plan to attend the musical production of Grease the School Version with performances on March 3-5! You can buy tickets at the Palace box office or online through the Palace!
Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Monday, March 6 from 11am-7pm, so there will be no school for students on that day. You have heard me mention YouScience, an inventory we used with our students in grades 6-12. As a parent, I have seen the power of this tool! I will be holding an open office hour event for families to learn more about their students’ YouScience results on Monday, March 6, from 5:30-6:30pm. Bring your student in grades 6-12 and stop in to learn while you are at conferences! I will be set up in the Jr/Sr High computer lab.
Preschool registration is still available for the 2023-24 school year. Information and applications are available on the website.
Kindergarten registration will be held through our Expo! This will be on April 4, from 4-7pm. Please call the elementary school to RSVP!
Be sure to check our website or download the app to keep up to date with all news, athletics, and events!
Thank you for all you do for our students, our staff, and our community! Make it a great week, and Go, Rockets!

Thank you to MTC for bringing their engineering mobile lab for our students to explore and learn!

Our second Career Cafe focused on arts and media occupations! Students with high aptitudes in these areas according to their YouScience were invited to a special lunch to learn from those in the field!

FFA week culminated with a fantastic breakfast cooked by students & delivered to staff! Huge congrats to Brody Weston for placing 4th & Brenda Scott for placing 5th at the District FFA Public Speaking!

Always fun to walk through the buildings and see our students active while listening to some classic music!

Proud of the hard work and creativity of our staff during PD focusing on MTSS, digging deeper, and safety!

Thank you to our community partners who took time to meet with us on our emergency operation plans! Your feedback and support are so valuable!

Great day hosting the sectional boys' wrestling and baseball breakfast fundraiser event!

DISTRICT BOUND BOWLERS! Good Luck Rockets!

What great seasons for the Rocket Youth Basketball Teams! Most teams wrapped up their seasons this weekend with Saturday and Sunday tournaments. Both the girls and boys 4-6 youth teams played in various locations. Ridgedale hosted the 3rd grade league tournament on Sunday. We had several teams make it to the semi-finals, as well as playing for tournament championships. Ridgedale 5th grade boys teams played each other in the 5th grade Championship game! Great job Rockets! Congratulations to all of the players and coaches! 🚀❤️💙🏀💙❤️🚀

Good afternoon, Rocket families!
This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential while focusing on learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility. As part of our safety cornerstone, we would like to take another minute to remind students to ensure they are being kind to others, including using kind words. Taking a moment to speak kindly to another person can certainly have long-lasting effects.
Here are some important reminders about events this week and beyond:
Don’t forget that there is no school tomorrow, Monday, February 20, as we celebrate Presidents’ Day.
FFA week is this week! There are some fun spirit activities for the week to celebrate!
As we are preparing our school calendars for the next two school years, we are planning to add one more professional day for our staff. This will result in one less instructional day for students; however, we will still be well over the required hours from the state. Because there is one less instructional day, we are required to have an open meeting with the public; therefore, the meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 22 at 6pm in the board office.
Youth baseball and softball sign ups will take place on Tuesday, February 21 from 5-7pm and Saturday, February 25 from 10am-12pm in the elementary cafeteria.
There is a Beacon of Hope Community Clothing Closet that will be open on Saturday, February 25 from 12-2pm at the old Elgin School Cafeteria at 1239 Keener Rd. S. All are welcome!
There will be a meeting on Wednesday, March 1 at 6pm in the HS library for all Junior class members and their parents to discuss planning for prom
Plan to attend the musical production of Grease with performances on March 3-5!
