This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential while focusing on learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility.
Once again, please know that we take safety very seriously. We remind you that if you hear something or see something, say something. We have many ways that you can contact us quickly and efficiently. Concerns can be directly reported to any staff member in person, via email through our website, or via phone calls to the building office. In addition, we use the SaferOH tip line. You can find a direct link to the site on our website or the Ridgedale app. You can also call or text the tip line at 844-Safer-OH (844-723-3764). This tip line is monitored 24 hours a day/7 days a week. If you have an immediate need, please contact 911. Keep in mind that we have a full time School Resource Officer on our campus daily as well.
This week, we have many events where you can support our Rocket community. On Monday, jr. high volleyball plays Hardin Northern at home, and our regular monthly board meeting will be held at Tri Rivers Career Center starting at 6pm. On Tuesday, we will host the Ridgedale Rocket Cross Country Run starting at 4:30pm. High school golf plays in the NWCC 3rd tournament championship at King’s Mill and jr. high volleyball plays Upper Sandusky at home. On Thursday, high school volleyball plays at Hardin Northern, and it is elementary fall picture day. High school football plays at USV on Friday. On Saturday, JV volleyball plays in a tri match with RV and East Knox, and jr. high volleyball plays at Mt. Gilead.
Don’t forget there is no school this Friday, September 20, for teacher professional development.
We are proud to be a small district doing big things, so be sure to keep up to date with all of the news and events by using our website, Google Calendar, and social media.
If you are interested in substituting for our district in a variety of roles such as teacher, secretary, cafeteria, custodian, and aide, please apply on our website. Would you like to give back to our district as a bus driver? We can train you for this certification! We are actively searching for a bus route driver and substitute drivers. We would love to have you on our team!

Please be advised that the Marion County Engineer’s Department will be closing Wyandot-Marion Road, between SR 98 and SR 4, as of Monday, September 9 until Tuesday, September for bridge replacement. Wyandot-Marion Road will be closed in this locations for just over 2 weeks. Attention, all families who sold mums! Due to the extremely high volume of mums sold, we are not able to do pick up at the elementary on Monday. Mum sale pick up has been moved to Friday, September 13, at High Tunnel Farm, 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM. If anyone is available throughout the day on Friday to help with pick up, the help would be greatly appreciated! Please contact the elementary with questions. Did you know that we have pickleball courts? These are located in the north parking lot. Right now, we have cones so that people do not drive across the courts, but they ready to be used! On Monday, jr. high volleyball plays at home against Ridgemont, and jr. high football plays at home against Elgin. High school volleyball plays at Temple, and jr. high volleyball plays at USV on Tuesday. There is also a PTO meeting on Tuesday. On Wednesday, golf competes at Three Sticks Golf Course against Ridgemont. There are a couple events on Thursday, including golf competing at Kings’ Mill Golf Course, and high school volleyball playing at home against USV. Football Friday night is on Saturday night this week with high school football traveling to Michigan to play Gabriel Richard Catholic. High school volleyball has a home tri-match with East Knox and Elgin, cross country competes at the Galion Invite, and jr. high volleyball plays at Wynford on Saturday as well. Please plan ahead as there is no school on Friday, September 20, for teacher professional development. Rocket XC breaking records!!! Congratulations to Brogan Weston on his record breaking race at Bucyrus. His time was 16:25 breaking Jim Thiel's long standing record. Brogan took 2nd in the race. Elliot Weston took 4th with a time of 16:54.
The rest of the team all improved times.
Kinlee Weston and Avery Thiel both place 9th and 6th respectively. Great job Rockets and Coach Mazza!
