LEO Christmas Clearing House Service Project, Sponsored by the Ridgedale
Lions

This service project started early in the school year as
Ridgedale High School LEO members made and sold cotton candy during home
football games to begin their fundraising. Then in October and November
they sold raffle tickets for a set of Apple AirPods to further build their
treasury.

At a regular bi-monthly LEO meeting late in November, members
selected 6 families with 11 children they wished to sponsor from over 600
‘requests for help’ gathered by the Christmas Clearing House. Each of the
family's parents were then called to find out the children’s Christmas
wishes and needs.

On a Sunday afternoon in early December, LEO members invested 4
hours working in teams at the Marion Meijer Store. They selected and
carefully wrapped those personal clothing items and ‘dream’ gifts
identified by the parents of the 11 children in the ‘adopted’
families.

LEOs purchased almost $1200.00 worth of these special Christmas
presents, thanks to their fundraising money and a sizable donation from the
Marion Meijer’s Store. Leo members then carefully wrapped each ‘Christmas
Surprise’ in preparation for delivery to the selected families.

The following Tuesday the LEOs traveled by Ridgedale School bus
delivering 11 bags of presents to grateful parents at their homes. This
effort will make Christmas day special for all of us, but especially for
those 11 kids, -- and a warm hearted group of Ridgedale High School LEOs.
