This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential through our cornerstones of learning, safety, community partnerships, and fiscal responsibility.
🚨If you have not downloaded the ParentSquare app, please take a moment to do so. We have found that no matter which communication system we use, the weather can have an impact on the timeliness of the calls that go out. The app, texts, and emails still send quickly; however, there are some days the calls have taken a little longer. You can also check our website, local news, and local radio stations. These are the best places to look to ensure you have the most up-to-date and accurate information.
I wanted to take a moment to remind families that Ohio schools now look at hours of instruction versus days of instruction. It’s hard to believe, but this change actually occurred back in 2014. The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce sets this number of hours. For students, we are allowing “snow days” to be good old fashioned snow days, which also relieves the stress on families. Soak these days in because they don’t last! On these days, encourage your child to read, engage in real life math by cooking or baking, catch up on assignments, or get ahead on assignments. We will not move to make up days for students unless we get closer to the minimum required hours. If this occurs, we will make sure to communicate with families via ParentSquare. We appreciate your continued patience, support, and understanding!

⚾🥎If you have a child interested in Ridgedale Baseball and Softball for ages 4-12, sign ups are this week! These will take place today, Sunday, February 1, from 1-2:30pm and, tomorrow, Monday, February 2 from 6-7:30pm in the Ridgedale Elementary Cafeteria. Cash or Checks Accepted. 🏀On Wednesday, jr. high boys’ basketball plays at home against Elgin, jr. high girls’ basketball plays at Elgin, and high school boys’ basketball plays at home against Bucyrus.
