This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools. The last competency in our Portrait of a Rocket is Empathy.
⭐Empathy means putting yourself in someone else's shoes. It's the ability to understand how another person feels and to care about their experiences, even when they're different from your own.
A Rocket with empathy:
Listens actively to understand others' perspectives
Recognizes that everyone has their own story and challenges
Responds with kindness and support when others are struggling
Celebrates the successes and differences of their classmates
Takes action to make our school community welcoming for everyone
When we practice empathy, we create a Ridgedale community where every Rocket can thrive.

🏀On Monday, jr. high boys’ basketball has a scrimmage at Pleasant, jr. high girls’ basketball has a scrimmage at home against Pleasant, and the Board of Education meeting takes place.
🚌🎳On Tuesday, sophomores will be on a field trip to Tri Rivers Career Center, high school bowling competes at Shelby, and families with students who are planning on taking College Credit Plus courses should attend the CCP meeting.
🏀On Wednesday, high school boys’ basketball will scrimmage at Lima Bath, and jr. high girls’ and boys’ basketball will scrimmage at Tiffin Calvert.
🎳🏀🚜On Thursday, bowling competes at Cooper’s against East Knox, high school boys’ basketball scrimmages at home against Hopewell Loudon and Riverdale, and FFA has the Green Hand Initiation held at River Valley.
🚀On Friday, we will have our Fueled Up Friday. Jr./Sr. High students will engage in a career day where they will be able to talk to many local businesses and learn about a variety of occupations. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to make connections with those in our community!
🎳🏀✨On Saturday, bowling competes at Victory Lanes, high school girls’ basketball plays Buckeye Central, and the Boots, Bags, and Bingo event for Boosters takes place.
