Weekly Update

Good afternoon, Rocket families!

This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential while focusing on learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility.

It has been wonderful to see our students and staff this week! We are preparing to wrap up the second quarter this Friday, January 12. Remember, you can check your child’s grades on PowerSchool at any time.

As the weather continues to change, please remain alert and careful in your travels. Weather delays and cancellations will be shared via this system as well as on our social media, school website, and local news sources. If you are receiving this notification, you will receive delay and cancellation notifications as well.

Speaking of safety, don’t forget that concerns can be reported 24 hours a day/7 days a week using our Stay Safe, Speak Up portal found on our website. You can also call 1-866-547-8362 or 1-844-SAFER-OH. If you see something, say something.

It is another exciting week of events here at Ridgedale! On Monday, the bowling team will compete against Elgin at Blue Fusion. On Tuesday, the jr. high boys’ basketball team will play USV at home, the jr. high girls’ basketball team will play at USV, and the freshmen boys’ basketball team will play River Valley. The elementary will be hosting the 2nd Annual Winterfest and academic night from 4-6pm on Wednesday. The organizational and regular board meeting will take place on Wednesday as well. On Thursday, the high school girls’ basketball team will play USV. The high school boys’ basketball team will play at USV on Friday. On Saturday, high school wrestling will compete at Fredericktown, and high school boys’ basketball will play Bucyrus.

If you have a child who is interested in Mini Cheer Camp, please be sure to fill out the registration form by January 12th to guarantee your child gets a t-shirt. The cost is $40, and the camp takes place January 18, 25, and 27 with the performance on the evening of Saturday, January 27. Please contact Mrs. Jodi Smith if you have any questions.

Check out the Google Calendar on our website for all events! You can also follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and the LiveFeed to see all of the amazing work being done in our schools!

If you are looking for a part-time job that provides flexibility and allows you to make a difference in our community, consider becoming a substitute in our schools! You can join our team as a substitute aide, teacher, cafeteria worker, custodian, secretary, and/or bus driver. Please fill out an application on our website, and email me to set up an interview.

Thank you for all you do for our students, our staff, and our community! Make it a great week, and Go, Rockets!
