Middle School - Required State Tests Schedule

March 29, 2021

Ridgedale Middle School Parents:

Ridgedale Middle School will be administering the Required State Tests this spring according to the following schedule:

Wednesday, April 14, 2021                       English (All Students in Grades 6-8)
Tuesday, April 20, 2021                              Science (only Grade 8)
Wednesday, April 28, 2021                      Math (All Students in Grades 6-8)

Each test consists of two parts. On test day, the following schedule will be used.

Periods 1-2           Review for the specific test will be conducted in the normal classroom by their                                          teacher
Periods 3-4          Testing – Part 1 (Students will test in groups to allow for Social Distancing)
Period 5                   Enrichment – normal locations
Period 6                    Lunch – normal locations
Periods 7/8-9        Testing – Part 2 (Same locations as Part 1)
Periods 10-11           Regular classrooms, but activities will be provided to help “wind down”

Please note, students will not have any regular classes on days when they are testing and teachers have been instructed that no assignments are to be given for testing students on these days.

This schedule has been developed to allow for students to focus on test day with no other distractions. Testing has been spread out the so students will only be taking one test per week.

Please note, for the Math Test, your child will take the test for the level of their course, which may not be their actual grade. For example, 7th Grade students in Math 8 Advanced will take the Math 8 Test on April 20. Additionally, middle school students taking high school level classes (such as Algebra I) will take the specific high school test on the day this test is given (you should have also received the high school letter) and will not test on April 20.

Mr. Sparling will schedule any make up tests for students absent on test day. Please feel free to contact the school with any questions and/or concerns you have about state testing or any other school related matter.

Sincerely,
